Applied Texture

Each of these textural finishes can be customized via intensity, color or shape. Each application is unique and colors can be coordinated to enhance your furnishings and accessories.

Old World/Mediterranean
Texture: Characterized by its
cool stonelike pitted texture

Faux Leather Texture: Less
dimensional than the Old World
finish. (Please page down for an
example of a dining room finished
in this texture)

Elephant Skin: A wrinkly
crinkly texture much like the
skin of an elephant

Faux Stone: Cool to the touch,
dimensional, and quite convincing
(Please page down for another example
of this faux finish)

Faux Stone Walls - Sitting Room

This faux stone finish transformed this three-walled sitting area from ordinary to fabulous. To the right is the room prior to the faux treatment.

After the compound is applied to the existing wall, grout and cracks are etched and the stone surfaces are given a natural looking texture. Primer, often tinted, is painted on, and then from one to four glazes are applied.

This photo, left, shows the "stones" being glazed one by one, nonlinearly to ensure variation. Each has it's own character and no two are alike. They are very convincing even under close scrutiny.

Faux Leather - Dining Room

This leathery faux finish in a formal dining room complemented the client's heavy, rich furniture and gave the room elegance and sophistication. The closeup, focused on the area beneath the ornate framed mirror, shows the complexity of the texture. It is all applied by hand, painted and glazed.

The picture below is of the ceiling in the same room. Here the uplight of the chandelier gives the ceiling amazing warmth. This is the same finish that is on the walls.
