Mural Creatures

This snail atop the door molding and this happy little fish below left are in the bathroom of a young girl out west. I painted murals in both her bedroom and her sisters.

Her room and bath had an underwater/surfer theme. The bathroom walls were full of fish, including a not too menacing shark and an eel that rippled across the length of her bath wall. Many of the fish were in designs/colors of her choosing.

I painted a surfing girl riding a wave on the largest wall of her room. It included a cutaway with an underwater scene revealing more fish, sea turtles, anemones, coral, and clown fish (think Nemo). Behind her wicker bed I painted dunes and three full sized surfboards, one with her name on it. The remaining wall had dunes, a sandcastle complete with moat, and a shovel and pail.

This character, left, is painted in the younger sister's room as part of a jungle theme. It's a full sized monkey with blue eyes--the same color eyes as the little girl. He is over her night table.

Per her request, I painted a snow leopard resting on a tree limb on one of the larger walls. The shorter wall featured a boa constrictor (her request again) wrapped around a limb, and another smaller monkey sat in a smaller tree over her right hand night table.

I painted chameleons and various little friendly bugs and lizards peeking from behind palm trees in her bathroom, and where it became part of the shared guest bath, I created a raised dragonfly relief to carry on the theme without the little girl look.

This boa and tree run through the corner of the room, not far from the foot of her four poster bed. (You can see the faint line of the corner as it runs between the two loops that are wrapped around the limb and just to the right of the tip of the snake's tail.)

Yes, they were. This was quite a project (throughout the entire 4,000 square foot house).

Mural's in both girls' rooms as well as related murals in their bathrooms.

Also, did faux stone in the guest bathroom and a soft stucco throughout the house.
